Literature Text

Weeping willows and fallen oaks,
Upon these memories the old one chokes.

Broken beeches and shattered piles,
Alone stands the old one all covered in vines.

Trees are fallen, saplings strangled,
Their remains are cruelly mangled.

He stands alone; the proudest of them all,
He alone was not destined to fall.

Alone the old one stands,
He alone in the aging lands.

But his wish cannot be granted,
The trees shall never again by life be enchanted.

And as the old one at last falls to the ground,
There is none to hear the terrifying sound.

For their greed, all have suffered.
This was written about 3 years ago, but I only just re-located it recently. I seem to recall it was pretty popular with thise who read it, so I figured I'd submit it.

I guess you could call it an environmental warning, my thoughts of what might happen if human kind doesn't wake up to its self.
